Remiinisce began with a sailing trip aboard a friend's vessel in Marathon, FL. At that moment we knew that a boat would need to be purchased. During the course of looking for the perfect boat this vessel was chosen due to it's ability to be single-handed while offering the spaciousness and amenities of larger sailboats. Remii was purchased from an ex yacht delivery captain who used her as a liveaboard for 10 years.
In 2022 She went through a thorough and meticulous update with extensive maintenance to her 50hp Yanmar and mechanicals, interior updates, bimini and dodger, cockpit amenities, new rigging, anchors and lines, new/rebuilt sails, navigation, sonar, electronics, solar, wind and battery to be able to be off-grid for up to a month at a time.
The name "Remiinisce" is not a misspelling and has two i's as she is named after Remii, the daughter of Captain Dave.
Remiinisce is a 1993 Hunter Legend 40.5 with the 2 cabin 2 head layout and has a spacious galley and salon. She can accommodate up to 7 people with the fold-down salon table and offers 6' headroom. She drafts 5', is 40.2' in length and 13.1' wide, stands 64' from the water to the tip of the mast and weighs 20,000 lb.
Being able to be off-grid for long periods means going to remote and less-charted areas only less than 1% of the world ever gets to see, let alone explore so we try to keep ourselves entertained. Aside from your personal clothing and toiletries we try to provide everything you might need!
Onboard we offer:

My sailing career started in 1999 when I took a break from the automotive industry and landed job as a boat technician with Shorewood Yacht Club in Minnesota. As part of my compensation package I was given sailing lessons and certifications through ASA and a 1979 Hunter 25 that had been abandoned. Over the next couple years I refitted and sailed that little boat and spent every night possible at anchor. I loved it.
In 2022 we started working on Remiinisce after being a liveaboard for over 10 years. Everything needed to be replaced to return her to service. With a background in mechanics and construction we set about getting Remii up to par for extended off-grid sailing.
Aside from my lengthy sailing and boating experience I've logged roughly 2000 nautical miles a year since getting Remii back into service and enjoy sailing, especially in conditions most people won't. My least favorite but most favorite trip was a solo to Cuba during a Gulf advisory with 30 knot winds, confused seas and 15'-20' waves. It was a great test of Remii's strength and my skills.
My adventures on the water started when I was 12 years old. I went to a museum and saw an old underwater dive suit and it was then I decided I needed to experience THAT. My first dive was at 13 years old. Since that day I have run dive charters throughout the entire Great Lakes, Honduras, Thailand as well as Grand Cayman and other destinations and carry the highest scuba certification there is, a Trimix Closed Circuit rebreather certification, hyperbaric chamber operator certification as well as offshore diver medical technician certifications. My USCG rating is a 100 Ton.
